I recently had the opportunity to share my love of all things Disney, and have a bit of Disney fun, with a few of my favorite kiddos. Thanks to the generous support of Maria Bailey, BSM Media, MomSelect, and Disney Parks, it was truly a magical time.
I received several non-Disney freebies such as Duff Tie Dye Cake Mix, HP photo cards, All, Snuggle, Wisk, Wilton, and many more! There were far too many to use in our party. Some will be saved for future events; others were given to households without allergies.
Sharing Disney fun with the littlest fans
There are so many ways to celebrate the love of Disney for all groups of all ages, but I was honored to share Disney fun with a few of my favorite early elementary kiddos. What makes a party fun for the youngest bunch? Free stuff, games, prizes, and SNACKS!
Each attendee had the opportunity to dress their own dog from the Hot Diggity Dog Bar, and pair it with their favorite snacks. The Mickey Mouse plates were all the rage, and the Mickey cups were the perfect size for little fingers, and their healthy treats. We used the classroom’s reading nook to host our Hide and Hug Olaf game, and the winners received Mickey tote bags to carry away their loot (thanks so much, Subway!).
Things very rarely go according to plan around here, and they definitely didn’t for this party! The Mickey Mouse cake, as well as my camera, met their untimely demise when little hands sent them crashing to the floor! Thankfully, there were cupcakes, and a few mobile phone pictures to the rescue. I managed to capture my first attempt at making the cake during my trial run several weeks earlier. It turned out to be quite tasty.
The second cake looked 10x better, and I regret missing the opportunity to taste, and photograph it! I am keeping my fingers crossed for the next opportunity to perfect my ingredients, as well as try out my new camera. The kids didn’t seem to care about perfectly planned pictures; they were quite content to play with their new toys, enjoy their snacks, and celebrate having an afternoon of fun. Their laughter and appreciation were so infectious that it was easy to overlook the mishaps. That sounds much like Disney magic to me: no matter what comes your way, there’s always a reason to smile, and enjoy the day.
Thanks so much, Disney and MomSelect, for helping a group of students say goodbye to winter, hello to spring, and celebrate the end of midterms!
